Important US Government Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall Alerts
There have been numerous MOV suppressor and power strip recalls since Brickwall introduced its non-MOV solution in 1989.  There are so many, in fact, that we’ve limited the following list to only those in the last 10 years. Please note, Brickwall has never had a product recall.

360 Electrical Recalls over 10,000 Surge Protectors in the US and Canada due to shock and fire hazard.  The surge protectors can short circuit when non-grounded plugs are connected, posing a shock or fire hazard.  Click here for information.

Legrand Wiremold Recalls over 46,000 Under-Cabinet Power Strips.  The internal electrical connections of the power strips are substandard, posing risks of overheating and fire.  Click here for information.

Schneider Electric/APC Recalls 15 Million Surge Protectors.  The surge protectors can overheat, smoke and melt, posing a fire hazard.  Click here for information.

Burlington Coat Factory Recalls 6,000 Lush Life® Power Strips Due to Fire Hazard.  The power strips have undersized wiring which poses a risk of shock to consumers.  In addition, the wiring and plastic strip fail to meet fire resistance safety standards, posing a fire hazard to consumers.  Click here for information.

The Container Store Recalls 7,200 Lush Life® Power Strips Due to Fire Hazard.  The power strips have undersized wiring, and the wiring and plastic strip fail to meet the requirements for fire resistance, posing a fire hazard.  Click here for information.

Milestone AV Technologies Recalls 2,500 Sanus Elements surge protectors.  Improper grounding of the case and inadequate insulation for the circuit breaker poses an electrical shock hazard to consumers.  Click here for information.

Howard Berger Recalls 12,000 Extension Cords and Power Strips Due to Fire Hazard.  The extension cords and power strips have inadequate coating material around the cords and copper conductors that are smaller than required, posing a fire hazard to consumers.  Click here for information.

Belkin International Inc. Recalls 68,700 SurgeMaster™ Surge Protectors Due to Shock Hazard.  The molding of the plastic 360 degree rotating plug, which allows for easy cord movement, can crack or detach from the plug assembly, posing a shock hazard to consumers.  Click here for information.

Neptune Systems Recalls 300 Power Strips for Shock Hazard.  The metal enclosure on the power strip is not properly grounded, which could result in an electrical shock.  Click here for information.
